Grow up N Korea! It's just a comedy. Yes maybe it's tasteless but come on now. And way to cave Sony! Why isn't our government stepping in and PROTECTING our nation? That is their job. Should we have threatened the makers of Death of a President? We didn't and it won awards. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/12/17/forget-sonys-the-interview-this-award-winning-movie-imagined-the-assassination-of-george-w-bush/ Last I looked, Sony was Japanese, let their government worry about it. As for death of a president, too bad that was only imagination. |

Misspelled sign may have cost high school principal her job. ![]() A principal has been reassigned after a misspelled sign was displayed for more than a week outside a New Jersey public high school. The message on the sign above the entryway to Paterson’s Public School Number 20 included three mistakes: December was spelled "Dicember," report as "reepor" and a "1" was placed backwards. The errors drew the ire of school Paterson Board of Education member Corey Teague, who saw a photo of the misspelled sign on Facebook. “At first I didn’t believe it," Teague told CBS New York. "I thought it was Photoshopped or something." When Teague found out it was real, he shared the photo on Facebook. "How can we expect our children to learn how to spell when the administration can't?" Teague wrote. "We must be held to a higher standard.” “We can’t assume because it’s an urban district — inner-city — that things like this can be swept over," he told the CBS affiliate. "If it were a suburban neighborhood, parents would be outraged." School officials told NJ.com that the lettering "was placed by a custodian and the sign was near an entrance not normally used by staff." It was later corrected. After the gaffe was picked up by several local news outlets, Antoinette Young, the school's principal, was reassigned as a vice principal at a different school. The school district did not disclose the reason for her demotion, but according to NorthJersey.com, Young was already under review for unrelated performance issues. Not everyone agreed with the reassignment. “They don’t talk about all the good things she’s done with the kids," Linda Martinez told CBS New York. "We’re sad to see her go." Young did not return an email seeking comment. She is still listed as principal on the school's website. Her name is listed under the school's motto: "Proper Planning Promotes Success; Failure Is Not An Option!" Gone, no articles say she has been demoted to vice principle with no mention of that $108,000 salary with which she started the school year being reduced. Now why would anyone want to work for the private sector when it seems indoctrinating all the little village idiots pays so well. And to imagine with 465 students this school in all probability has a $3 million budget for salaries or $3.6 million with overhead. A direct cost of about $7742 per student just for salaries. And somehow the crime is a misspelled sign!!!! |

I don't blame the Aussies! The way the current US government are going, they'll end up with NO allies! These United States will always have allies even if we have to bomb it out of them. Bombing countries into submission, doesn't make you friends, only enemies! I don't see China, doing that, eh? That's why they're rated and the States are hated by people around the globe. That gung-ho attitude will be your downfall in the end. Please, these united States have been trying to get rid of the British since 1776 but they just keep coming back like a bad disease. Yes, the US government is hated by people around the world including internally. They have no fans whatsoever. But as to the attitude being the downfall, I'm counting on it. The only question is which domino will start the show, England? Japan? Germany? Hey, these times are a gonna get interesting. As Einstein once said, "don't know what WWIII will be fought with, but WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones." Wonder if he was right? Really? Well it seems that quite a few, but not enough, of your countrymen agree with me. Too bad there wasn't more, would have only been appropriate. And just what are you capable of explaining to me? Doesn't seem to be this topic. An individuals teachability, or their ability to learn by way of being taught by someone else, is extremely dependent upon the open-mindedness or close-mindedness of the individual being taught. Low teachability derives from arrogance and rigid skepticism, but also from naivet and gullibility. High teachability derives from a balance between healthy skepticism and an open-minded willingness to learn and change. Conversely, the one trying to teach is bound by the same concept and until they develop the ability to learn, they neigh have the ability to teach. Human beings should consider with great care their sources for information. By refusing to present certain information, and by influencing people to dismiss certain information as unimportant or unnecessary to consider, many modern institutions seek to control human perceptions and therefore to limit what human beings may come to understand. |

Too bad. "Old Malcolm", as you call him, seems to be the first intelligence coming out of a "government" figure, especially Australian, in many a year. LOL, I have no doubt you actually believe that. Yeah, I really do, that is why I posted it. I wonder just what is going to happen when it is discovered "Old Malcolm" had truth in those words? LOL, that won't happen. Another true statement, that wont happen, but that still does not negate "Old Malcolm's" words. |

yeah there is a lot of them ( all nationalities) operating out of store front medical offices in strip malls. Medicare is a easy target because it is so large and not policed properly. People ( Americans) rip Medicare off for years and never get caught.. The entire system is soo awkward that it can't watch out for itself. Remember, America is the country that buys the $150.00 hammers from supply contractors.. you know.. the same hammers that sell every day in Home Depot for $20.00. 1 reason is because the requisition form to buy one hammer is like the "dead sea scrolls".. 30 pages of B/S specs and requirements... its a friggin hammer!! You mean like this? Oakland County receives $150 hammers from federal government, report finds Some people will believe just about anything, wont they? first of all, I don't believe everything I read.. far from it. 2nd of all, I wasn't talking about this article as this is the first time I ever saw this article. I was talking about a congressional investigation into Government spending that I watched on T.V. about 5 years ago where the Government spent $150.00 on carpenters hammers... regular carpenters hammers.. to prove the point, the congressman leading the investigation purchased the SAME hammer at Home Depot for $20.00... that is where my statement came from Wow, were you in doubt about your source? I wasn't. But still does that add validity to anything? That story you pinpoint to TV about 5 years ago was the subject of new investigations 30 to 40 years ago, when there were actual journalist. Besides, this thread is about medicare, not hammers or I would ask if you knew anything about "government" procurement but then with your post that answer seems obvious. So getting back on topic, where those hammers used for medical fraud? Is that why that why they billed such huge sums? |

Australia’s defense minister David Johnston and U.S. officials will also sign a 25-year agreement, which will create a larger ballistic missile defense shield for U.S. allies in Asia-Pacific and boost U.S. troops in Australia from 1,500 to 2,500 by 2017. The additional forces will respond to humanitarian disasters and conflicts in the region. http://time.com/3102616/us-military-presence-australia/ Why not, they have already disarmed their good little "government" citizens? But hey, where did this terrorist get the gun? |

I don't think this is the case here.....and hearing nothing on this in the local media.....from what I understand we like to spread our friendships widely....even to China one our major trading partners..... The thread title is just the usual hyperbole, and it is merely another opinion piece from old Malcolm who seems to be quite the leftist in his dotage considering his tenure as PM heading the conservatives. We will not annul the relationship between us and the US. Too bad. "Old Malcolm", as you call him, seems to be the first intelligence coming out of a "government" figure, especially Australian, in many a year. I appreciate the definition. I feel as though you are creating disagreements where there is none, or perhaps very little. Maybe you are simply translating "How things are" verses "How things should be". I am saying, an officer should have the right to defend himself from a deadly threat just as you or I should. I am also saying that Brown brought the situation on through his own recklessness. (Which is similar to how I am interpreting your view.) Furthermore, I would like to think of my opinion being my own. I do believe that my training, having been tested in the real world, has given me a unique perspective in situations similar to these and what would/wouldn't work tactically. If I am responding to your post, then I am not the creator, I am the respondent, therefore it is not I that creates the disagreement. I am but the one to bring it to light. But I do disagree, not necessarily with the external manifestation that is but the effect, but with the internal manifestation, the cause that resulted in the external manifestation. People just following orders, that is why they call it a totalitarian system, a police state, why do they not call it a banker state? A politician state? A lawyer state? A judge state? Because none of these people are ultimately responsible for bringing that condition into manifestation through their behavior, they are the order givers. The order-followers carry out their commands and through their behavior make that condition into reality, that's why they call it a police state. Because every police state that has existed has always been created by police that follow their orders. When there are terms used that one does not understand, those that seek knowledge search for the answer but most just ignore because they chose to remain ignorant. When you state that we are of the same conclusion, believe me when I tell you that nothing is further from the truth. You are entitled to your "own" opinion, but when stated in public do not be so surprised when someone objects. Interesting standpoint. I don't mean that sarcastically either. I'm not surprised to see an objection to my opinion. I am surprised at the manner it was objected to, in this case. Thanks for giving me something to think about. I hope you are not disappointed by my appreciation... Disappointed, that would imply that I had some sort of high level expectations and if you are starting to understand moral relativism you would understand that isn't so. But there are times when I am mildly surprised much to my amusement. Also let me inform you that anything I do here is for me and my benefit and no other. If another gets something out of it, so be it but that little has anything to do with my intentions. In fact to most that did get anything out of it didn't really need me, they were already there except for occasionally finding a new source of info. |

Obama is a total arsehole and running the States into the ground!! Odumbo is in great company in that regard but running the states into the ground, that would be giving him much too much credit. Obumbo is but the idiot at the end of the strings. The most visual of a whole town full of people on strings. Sort of like the illusion that there is a difference between the red team and the blue team not matter how many times they keep demonstrating the truth, you know like the budget just passed. |

I prefer the happy sunshine stories over all these hatred and bigotry that has been going on. The race baiting has gotten out of control. Does not matter the color of the flesh, for anyone can be cruel within. The happy stories are always good for the soul but to be cognizant of the others helps maintain the spirit. What good is a tranquil soul when the world is trying to crush the spirit? |
