I would start her on kitten food soaked in kitten formula if she'll eat it. At one month old, she's not yet weaned and will take great comfort in suckling a bottle, plus the kitten formula will give her the nutrients she needs.

If you can't find kitten formula, try a local feed store for powdered goat's milk (although some feed stores carry kitten formula).

Especially in the cold, kittens need more calories and a higher fat content which is found in their mother's milk. Cow milk will literally starve them of nutrients as it's mainly water (what you get at a store, if it's farm fresh, that's a different story).

A lot depends on how old the kitten is. Is it still trying to suckle? If so, your local Wal-Mart should carry kitten bottles and kitten formula. Also, you may want to talk to a local vet, many will give your first visit free if you've rescued an animal, such as it's first shots and deworming.

Also, the vet can tell you approximately how old the kitten is and recommend what to feed it based upon it's age, size, and weight.

Ave Maria. With both Latin and English. And I'm not even a Christian, it's just a beautiful, beautiful song.

Have you checked your credit report lately?

If you don't know this person, they may be using your address (and worse, name and social security number) as a decoy for bill collectors, setting up new accounts, etc.

I have long been a follower and fan of Bettie Page. I have an extensive collection of her photos and think she's possibly the most beautiful woman that ever existed. Next to my Mama that is.

My thoughts are with her and while I hope she recovers, as a nurse, I know her recovery, may be within her final breath. My hopes for her are that she is pain free.

She was a revolutionary, a hero to thousands of women, and one of the greatest women of all time.

By JAMES BELTRAN, Associated Press Writer James Beltran, Associated Press Writer – 5 mins ago

LOS ANGELES – Bettie Page, whose magazine photographs in bikinis and see-through lingerie helped her become one of the most notable models of the 20th century, was hospitalized in intensive care after suffering a heart attack, her agent said Friday.

"She's critically ill," Mark Roesler of the Curtis Management Group told The Associated Press.

He said she had the heart attack on Tuesday and was hospitalized Friday in the Los Angeles area.

A family friend, Todd Mueller, said Page was in a coma. When asked to confirm, Roesler said, "I would not deny that," but he would not comment further on her condition.

Page, a secretary turned model, is credited with helping set the stage for the sexual revolution of the rebellious 1960s. She attracted national attention with magazine photographs of her sensuous figure that were tacked up on walls across the country.

Her photos included a centerfold in the January 1955 issue of then-fledgling Playboy magazine, as well as controversial sadomasochistic poses.

Page later spent decades away from the public eye, and during that time battled mental illness and became a born-again Christian.

After resurfacing in the 1990s, she occasionally granted interviews but refused to allow her picture to be taken.

Mueller credits his business dealings with Page for bringing her out of seclusion. He said he first met her in 1989 when he offered her "a bunch of money" to show up at autograph signings.

"I probably sold 3,000 of her autographs, usually for $200 to $300," he said. "Eleanor Roosevelt, we got $40-$50. ... Bettie Page outsells them all."

Greetings Everyone,

Although I've been here for about six weeks and have posted a few times in the forums, I've yet to formally introduce myself.

For those of you who know me... you may now leave, ain't saying nuttin' new you don't already know 'bout me...

For those who don't know me... I'm Beki aka the Tattooed Nurse.

I'm a mom of five kids, ages 13, 15, 16 (17 this month), 21, and 23 and two granddaughters ages 2 and 9 months.

I'm separated from my husband however I am not looking for a "hook-up," "fling," "relationship," or "date."

I live at my ex-husband's place (he's CAPTTANK on here) with our three children and he's been my best friend for nearly 20 years. And no, there's no "friends with benefits" situation with us. Circumstances required that I leave my home in Florida in May and the children and I needed a place to stay and being the person that he is, he offered us his place. This works best for all of us as we're able to pool our resources, share expenses, and continue to parent our kids together.

I'm a psychiatric nurse and I work in Behavioral Health and my background is also in corrections (yep, I'm also a prison nurse), addictions and recovery, Hospice, Occupational Health, Alzheimer's, and Geriatrics.

I have 24 tattoos and 16 piercings (no you can't see them so please don't ask) and have plans for many, MANY more works of art to be in my skin.

I'm traditional in my religion and philosophy, which is that of my people, the Kaniahkehake (Mohawk). I study religious archeology and theology and am a non-Christian ordained minister.

Guess that's about it... anything else you want to know, just ask.

Peace,

Beki flowerforyou

Glucosimine Chondroitin works for many people, unfortunately, after six months on it, for me... nothing. I do recommend it to my patients though, especially those with addiction issues.

I am looking at an injection called SynVisc, which is a synthetic synovial fluid (the fluid in your joints) that has had great results.

I'm allergic to cortisone, so that's not an option for me. I'll have insurance in a month so I'm looking at that in an effort to give my knee a little more time. Fortunately, my doctor is treating me strictly for the sciatica, so the arthritis doesn't show up as a pre-existing.

Blaze, sounds like it's more than just an intolerance to medication, almost sounds as if you have a mile to moderate case of diverticulitis.

The only thing I have found to help my Sciatica/Degererative Arthritis, is LORTAB or Percocet-N, at 1/2 the usual dose... works wonders, if you can find a Dr that will prescribe it for you.

I am living on borrowed time anyway, because of COPD, so addiction is a moot point...

My doctor will not prescribe narcotics to me because I have a tendency towards dependence. We work very closely together with my treatments as I have a very addictive personality and he's very cautious with me.

I can't take either Lortab or Percocet as they contain Acetaminophen and I'm allergic to that plus, I like them way too much and it probably wouldn't take much to make an addict out of me.

Also, as a nurse, I have to take great care in what I take for pain as it cannot alter my senses. I'm on call when I'm not at work, so at any given time, I could end up at work and I must have my senses about me.

Ultimately, I will end up with the replacement, I just want to hold off as long as I can.

I was diagnosed with Arthritis years ago and have had little success with homeopathic or pharmacological treatments. Over the years, I've just learned to deal with it.

Until recently. Arthritis was just the "icing on the cake' when it came to my knees. Numerous injuries, sports and car accidents, and a gunshot when I was younger to one of my knees, has left them in pretty bad shape. Since I was 35, the docs have been wanting to replace my left knee and I've been fighting it tooth and nail.

However, the pain is chronic and today, my doctor put me on Celebrex. To make matters worse, I suffer from neurological pain from my right sciatic nerve. He had me on Elavil for that, but I couldn't tolerate it.

Believe me, I've tried everything imaginable and have a horrible time tolerating medications of any sort. I was on Celebrex very, VERY briefly right before they took it off the market, so my doc back then, stopped it right away.

Is anyone on Celebrex that has trouble tolerating medications and if so, how is it working for you?

And for those not on Celebrex, what do you that brings you relief?

Yeah I know, I'm a nurse and I should know this stuff... but I'm a psychiatric nurse, I only work with the brain... ohwell
