Spasms in the night,
uncontrollable twitches, moonlight casting eerie light, howls from dogs, screams from witches, noises creaks and scraunch, strange weird dreams, on the verge of sleep you launch, the morning's far off it seems, incessant ticking of the clock, rhythmic overload, an unexpected noise causes a 'shock!', interrupting your sleepy mode, you change posture with a yawn, thrust the pillow under your head, endless ticking marches toward the dawn, the quilt slides off the bed, your mind just won't allay, thoughts invade the calm, voices must have their say, images sometimes charm, restless legs kick out, making you toss and turn, annoyed you want to shout, while the candle slowly burns, noises in the night, seem louder in the dark, an unexpected fright, when a dog begins to bark, another dispiriting Nox, when I just can't rest, tried counting sheep on rocks!, but my mind is full of zest. http://youtu.be/Kg47mgGTSJw |

I know you cant hear me,
it's just therapy for myself, unwritten words on blank pages, dusty books upon the shelf. I know that you can't see me, eyes loiter beyond the veil, a memory is like a photograph, your face has now turned pale. I can no longer hold you, the warm touch begins to freeze, icy fingers grasping in the air, makes dust float on the breeze. Reflected hope just wrinkles, as the lines upon your face turn down, the lines in the pond aren't wavelets, in the mirror they reflect a frown. A broken heart can kill you, it's the stress that rips asunder, pining for a matching soul, turns joy to grief to wonder. Life becomes a monotony, minds eye unable to conceive, really hard to focus your vision, or understand what you believe. Trapped inside my universe, within the boundaries of this space, empty horizons surround me, while my thoughts are all displaced. Consciousness is the key to life, while your dreams keep you asleep, nothing prepares you for tomorrow, except the memories that you keep. So I'll not sing you a lullaby, or even try to make you smile, it's not the promise of simplicity, yet all you have is for a while. The page seems full of substance, while the pen begins to linger, to form an image straight from my mind, with the ink now upon my finger. |

I'd like to kiss you on the lips,
chase your smile with my tongue, hold you firmly by the hips, clasp you close where you belong. I'd smell the sweet perfume in your hair, your soft tender skin pleasant to touch, the feeling's mutual we begin to share, unspoken words mean so much. Hands clasped in sentimental harmony, passion unbridled climbs to misty highs, pupils dilated remembering all we see, while the sun shines through cloudy skies. Love a swirling emotion conquers all, cheeks aflame passions untold story, butterflies in your tummy no longer small, rose-petals in your crown of glory. Hearts entwined love that never sleeps, shared delights whispers of desire, lust unbound the secrets that we keep, every-time we meet sets my heart on fire. Hands so soft meaningful caress, smouldering embraces we can't forget, eyes that smile cheekily undress, we agree to feel and not regret. Arms so tight together in a bind, two hearts share one sacred place, thoughts of love together we remind, the only image I see is your face. Hearts that ache is never over rated, two units as one prove they are strong, anguish creeps in when we're separated, 'cos we know together that we belong. True love we'll keep and hold forever, no storms will render us apart, peace and joy we'll share endeavour, as long as we reside in each-other’s heart. |

You have that look in your eye,
don't ask any questions, I don't know why, a look that seems to say it all, words scratched crudely on the wall, your face upturned toward the rain, hide the secret of your pain, words that really can't express, the more you say, I understand you less, thoughts just tumble from your lips, your head thrust back, hands on your hips, I hear the echoes of your screams, ricochet in my dreams, it's like your words are in a foreign tongue, everything you say just seems so wrong, somehow we cant talk at all, massive gestures seem so small, then I begin to realise, your a figment of my imagination, such sweet sweet lies, it's like we're on a different plane, unfamiliar yet the same, now I know the reason why, I laugh at you hysterically, and then break down and cry, your just a dream, about to die. |

Sometimes it's cosy to live in the past,
amongst faded memories you'd like to last, behind the shadows that made you smile, a safe place to dwell for a while. Living in the former is all that we do, an uncertain future for us to view, tied to the past stuck in the present, no time to relax but time to resent. Revolutions of the mind thoughts persist, photocopied days you try to resist, light from the moon rays from the sun, a celestial divider of days to become. We cannot look forward only look back, the road ahead invisible behind a murky track, the spotlights on the here and today, yet history is closer than the future far away. We step out of the shadows toward the dawn, lingering in the moment before we're born, the womb of life reassuringly close, cradle to the grave and then a ghost. An unfamiliar journey we try to perceive, those bound to the past are often deceived, the only time you feel your winning, comfy in the past from your beginning. We tend to look backwards yet stare straight ahead, a long-familiar history but a future we dread, yet an unknown equation we try to prevent, is the past meeting the future and robbing the present. |

Debunking the misjudgment of Paganism, Wicca and Witchcraft
Posted on August 16, 2013 at 6:40 PM Written by Raven Sagemoon Educating the truth to the lies 1. The biggest misunderstanding of Witchcraft is that we're evil. First and foremost, we're not evil. We uphold many sacred laws in our craft. The largest one is not harming others. While not all Witches are Wiccan, a major belief in many is the law to not hurt others with our craft. Magick is sacred and roots in nature, spirits, the universe and with-in us. There is no evil in our craft. 2. The next biggest, which might just be the biggest misunderstanding of Witchcraft, Paganism and Wicca is that we worship "Satan" or get our gifts from "Satan". First off, Satan is a Christian belief, we're not Christians. Our gifts comes from the earth, universe, ancestors and the spirits. We do not get our gifts or knowledge from "Satan" or any demon for that matter. Second, we do not worship Satan. As I said above, Satan is a Christian belief, Paganism is not Christian, but Christianity sure does enjoy our practices (Christmas/Yule, Easter/Ostara, Altars, Baptism/Paganing/Wiccaning). We worship nature, the spirits, the ancient Gods and Goddesses. There is no devil in the craft. 3. Witches curse people and practice black magic!!!!! No, another lie that I am so happy to debunk. We do not curse people at random, nor do we practice black magick. Now, this is not saying we cannot do so or some out there do enjoy more darker approach to Witchcraft. But generally a Witch isn't going to curse you just for the fun of it. We avoid harming people. Secondly, black magick is soooo 1600's propaganda. True magick is not black nor white. It is the intent of the caster that makes the magick good or baneful. 4. All witches wear black and sacrifice the neighbors dog! Again, No, No, No! We do love black, although our religion or craft is not a clothing trend. Witches, Wiccans and Pagans can wear anything they want. We do not have a "proper clothing policy". And to just debunk this now, black does not symbolize evil. Black absorbs energy, thus many of our ritual robes are black. But that depends on the witch/wiccan/pagan. And come on! We do not kill living beings, that is very much so against our creed. And hello, our Gods represent many of the animals on earth, why would we sacrifice them? All living beings are sacred and are apart of Mother Earth (Goddess) and we do not promote violence towards any being. Now this doesn't mean you cannot hunt deer for food or such. As that is balance in nature, but we do not use animals to harm in magick or any practice of our religion or craft. 5. Aren't all Witches Wiccan? Nope. Wicca is a religion, centered on ancient pagan earth worship and Gods and Goddesses from many Pagan religions. Sure, Wicca does have many symbols that are Witchcraft related, but to be a Wiccan you do not have to be a Witch (Most Wiccans I have met are Witches, but I know some that aren't). The same goes for Pagans, not every Pagan practices witchcraft. 6. Well Pagans are all Wiccans, right? Nope again! A great way to put this is "Not all Pagans are Wiccan, but all Wiccans are Pagan." Paganism is an umbrella term for many ancient pre-Christian religions, such as: Hellenism, Kemetism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Roman Paganism, Astaru and much more. The general term meaning of Pagan is Heathen, meaning Non-Christian, Judaism or Muslim. 7. Witches can throw fire balls and transform into creatures, like on TV, right? No, we are not Hollywood. We're real people, who happen to be Witches. Our craft is not about conjuring magickal fire balls and turning into creatures and fighting demons like on Charmed. We work with the energy all around us, in science the matter that is around you is electrical, thus giving off powerful energy. We tap into that energy to make positive change, some may use it for more personal gain. But that is one thing, this Witch and many others do not do. Okay, now that is a general debunking overview. So here is some more knowledge for you (based on yes/no answers/questions) 1. Do you summon the dead? No. Although there are forms of Witchcraft called Necromancy, but summoning and meddling with the dead is frowned upon. It is one thing to commune with the spirits, but it is another to meddle. 2. Do you hex people who are mean to you? No. Wicca for one teaches "An ye harm none, do what thou will". Paganism generally states to not harm others, unless ye be harmed. We have the right to defend ourselves. But we shouldn't use magick to just attack innocent people. 3. Do you hate Christians? No. We do not generally hate Christians (I cannot speak for everyone though). We do however dislike the fact of anyone saying their path is the only path or threatening others because of fear and ignorance. But we're generally peaceful and do not randomly hate someone for their religion. 4. Are Witches like obsessed with Halloween? Not obsessed, but by Goddess we love Halloween/Samhain. Samhain is one of the greater Sabbats, a day we celebrate the spirit world and the dead. It is the end of the Witches calender and the beginning starts on Yule. 5. Do you summon demons? No! We do not summon baneful beings. That is not with-in our law or our craft. 6. Do you work with Satan or any devils? As said above, no. We do not believe in Satan. As Satan is a Christian belief, we're not Christians. 7. Do Witches have like familiars and black cats? Yes, we do have our furry or feathery or maybe lizard-ie friends/familiars. Not all witches have black cats, but we do have our familiars that aids us in our craft. 8. Do you believe you will burn in hell? No, we do not believe in the concept of hell. Hell is another Christian ideal, we do believe in the Underworld.. But that is not a place of torment or where people go if they're bad. Most of us believe in the Summerlands, where the spirits reside, or Spirit World. No hell is in our volcabulary! Now, I do hope this helps you to better understand us as a community. Pagans, Wiccans and Witches. We're not the enemy, we're not evil, we're not devil worshippers. We're peaceful, earth loving, magick loving people who heal our planet and protect those we love. May the Goddess and the God forever protect, bless and shine upon you. Shared with kind permission from Raven Sagemoon |

I've met a lot of people in my life,
Some give me pleasure some give strife, Some like to talk to you you listen to what's said, Other's just want to mess with your head. Colours of insignificance like sunlight through drops of rain, A happy smile on a sunny day or indifference that cause you pain, People are walking minefields each step could be your last, It's the unknown quantity that's ready for the blast. A hand offered in friendship doesn't always find the glove, A smile shared in harmony doesn't always find that love, The mind is a probing tool designed to seek the 'like minded', But it's the veils of mystery that always has it blinded. So the eyes become so useless they only see the outline, The inner truth we want to see rarely does it shine, Arms outstretched we blunder toward an unknown fate, It's Only when we see the truth it's often much to late. Sick and twisted laughter follows you through the door, Close your ears to their shame before you hear some more, Looking in the mirror reflects what other's may see, But when you look at somebody else you realise it could be me. You search amongst the masses to find that perfect mate, You rush around aimlessly because your tired of the wait, Is it this one, that one, or the next one, you cannot be to sure, They all have identical smiles that's put on to create the lure. We're unlike the animal kingdom who see danger all around, Unlike birds of a feather who are seldom on the ground, We just tend to jump right in and hope for the best, Is this acquaintance a failure or is this unity surely blessed. But then your left with an aching heart beaten to a pulp, Was I just so stupid not to realise it's their fault, Your trust goes into your pocket naer again to see the light, Your intuitive radar unable to determine wrong or which is right. So the moral of this story is when your seeking a friend, Prepare for disappointments because the truth they'll always bend, Dust yourself down shake off the tale of woe, Look at yourself in the mirror and have another go. |

Being alone is cool,
At least your not left like a fool, Happiness is a state of mind, Sometimes with other's you cannot find. |

Loving you was it the right thing to do,
I see now how I wasted my time, Could it be all those things you said was true, Fantasies you had that you were mine. Happiness is entwined with so much trust, Emotions just seem to get in the way, Tears of hope eventually turn into rust, While with my heart you spitefully play. You came into my life on a whisper and a prayer, Gave me reasons to hold onto the dream, Your thoughts filled my head when you wasn't there, Your eye's shone with beauty at the things you had seen. I thought I'd found the true love of my life, What sweet mysteries were set to unfold, But your words cut my heart like a knife, That steely look in your eye made my blood run cold. But you became someone else when I averted my gaze, It must have happened then while my guard was dropped, You laughed hysterically revealing my heart was played, That's when my world no longer by you was rocked. |

Tumbling words,
nouns pronouns and verbs, letters that cascade like snow, on the page they dutifully go, in line all present and correct, the 'O's roll around and the 'L's stand erect, words they say it all, upper-case loud, quiet the small, fullstops end the line, commas pause for the rhyme, without fonts this would be problematic, the sentences wouldn't be so automatic, imagine a life without words, be like trees without singing birds, blank pages just gathering dust, or scribbles you still haven't 'sussed', clip art would rule the day, funny little images having their say, thoughts would collapse as a notion, only gestures to portray emotion, they say you can talk with your eyes, look at me for yes, averted for lies, but without words we'd be like the apes, blank expressions, open gapes, and you would be wasting your time, 'cos this would be a blank sheet with no lyrical rhyme! |
