I have a gun in the house, and I know how to use it. If the guy I was dating was freaked by that, well, I wouldn't be dating him much longer. ::smiles::

Yep, he wasn't born "here".

McCain wasn't born "here", either. He was born in the Panama Canal Zone, when the US was in control of it. Born on a base = born in the US. As for Obama, though...... .::sighs::

I guess just being yourself isn't going to be good enough for some. Women want you to conform to their standards very often.

Actually, I'd RATHER have him not conform to my standards. I think it's wonderful when everyone is unique, and there isn't a sameness to everyone. However, he ASKED an opinion from women. I, along with several other women, offered ours. It's up to him, not you sir, what he does with the opinions we gave him.

Well, a few things have been mentioned before.

The flash picture with the shirt off.... how can I put this. . . if you're gonna put "athletic" for your body type, you sure as hell better not have that flash go off with a shirtless pic in quite the way it did. . . .

Smoking, well, for me, a turn-off. But good luck with that.

I'd mention something about the sentence structure you used, but I have found there's some odd anti-grammar police on this site, so I won't mention how the fact you can't form a complete sentence coherently is totally unappealing to me.

I'd get rid of the bot-pictures as friends. As DuckieGiggles said, it's not helping you.

Otherwise, enjoy and good luck on here!

=)

As of 11:00 PM, Gustav was centered 17.8 North Latitude, and 77.3 West Longitude, 35 miles west-southwest of Kingston, Jamaica. 275 miles east-southeast of Grand Cayman.

Hurricane Warning in effect for Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.

Obviously still no definitive idea of the track of Gustav. However, all indications are it will be in the Gulf of Mexico by late Saturday. Sunday and Monday are suddenly looking like possible days it will hit land somewhere on the US southern Gulf Coast.

8/27/08 - 4:39AM EST

Taking no chances, city officials began preliminary planning to evacuate and lock down the city of New Orleans in hopes of avoiding the catastrophe that followed the 2005 storm. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin left the Democratic National Convention in Denver to return home for the preparations. Gov. Bobby Jindal declared a state of emergency to lay the groundwork for federal assistance, and put 3,000 National Guard troops on standby.

Forecasters said Wednesday Gustav could strengthen to a Category 3 hurricane with winds of 111 mph or higher in the next several days before hitting somewhere between the Florida Panhandle and Texas.

If a Category 3 or stronger hurricane comes within 60 hours of the city, New Orleans plans to institute a mandatory evacuation order. Unlike Katrina, there will be no massive shelter at the Superdome, a plan designed to encourage residents to leave. Instead, the state has arranged for buses and trains to take people to safety.

I had a guy fake his death with me. It was pretty sick and cruel, actually. We hadn't been dating for long, just a month or so... and yeah, we were in college, but apparently he had enough, so he had his friend call me telling me that "Derrick was in a horrible crash back home." I was, of course, horrified, and my friends tried to console me. Eventually I called around (to find out more of what happened) and one of his friends slipped up and said, "I saw him last night. He's not dead." Duh. Like I was never going to find out? Seriously...

ughh i lived in fl for 3 years, 2 months after moving there i got hit with charlie, then frances, and then umm i forgot the next one, no major damage in those, but i had moved ot s fl for grad school by the time wilma came through and it took all the shingles and the siding off the back of the house, my room was a mess and i even had leaking downstairs, between that and having my daughter, not being able to back to grad school and wanting more family around, i gave up on fl and came back to ny

Oh hon, I understand! I've lived in Florida all my life, so hurricanes are nothing new to me. But yeah, when Charley, Frances, and Ivan all rumbled through.... I can see how that would be a shock to a newcomer! I hope everything personal to you was saved, and you yourself suffered no injury at all. At least come back to visit Florida, even if you have to do it before April 1st and after Nov 1st. =)

So far Jefferson Parish is preparing in the Greater New Orleans area and watching to start the ball rolling on getting people out as early as possible. I am hoping it stays at a category 1 or go down to a tropical storm. I have had enough damage to body and property from Katrina.

Good to know, and sorry to hear about the effects of Katrina on you, personally! I really do hope he heads to a relatively uninhabited area.

Hey ya'll, and thanks!

I don't know about the whole "gorgeous woman" thing, but yeah, Florida has it's share of babes, for sure! For that matter, America is where it's at!

I'm liking it so far. Seems like a great site to be on! =)

....and saying hello to everyone on here!

I'm Nicki, 28 years old, from Florida. New here, have found the forums to already be interesting and looking forward to more. Not interested in rushing right in to anything, in fact, my expectations are being kept purposely low for now... but I welcome anyone, guys or girls, to stop and say hi to me! ::smiles::

Props to you for starting a forum like this to keep people updated. Even though most of us in hurricane areas are usually well-informed, it's nice to let others know what's going on, too.

I hope New Orleans is ready. I have a bad feeling about this storm.....

Hey Jace! Yeah, it's just something I thought I would do. I looked around in all the forums and saw people post things similar... letting others know what is happening with one thing or another... so I thought I would do the same with something that I'm kinda geeky about. LOL Look forward to sharing more! ::smiles::

I know, with Fay I just got a lot of rain... not nearly as much as they did on the Atlantic side.

This storm I'm slightly concerned about, because after it's done with Cuba, it hits warm, open water in the Gulf, and gets two or three days to strengthen in those perfect conditions. Katrina did much the same thing, after crossing Florida, first.....

As of right now, it's off the coast of Haiti, between Jamaica and Cuba, at 19.1 North Latitude, and 74.4 West Longitude, 90 miles southeast of Guantanamo, Cuba. It's moving west northwest at 6 MPH. Hurricane watches are in effect through most of Western Cuba, with extreme West Cuba under a hurricane warning. Hurricane watches also extend through the Cayman Islands, and northern Jamaica.

It's projected 5-day path is into the Gulf of Mexico and towards the Northern Gulf Coast of the US, between New Orleans and Pensacola, FL.

If you have any concerns or thoughts, ideas or suggestions, feel free to post them here. As a resident of the Gulf Coast of Florida, I'm always aware of what's going on when it comes to hurricanes, and I'm a firm believer in educating others and helping out when I can.
