I think for you, or anyone to want-to-ask...Tells me you question your own reasoning to THINK its a label.. Therefore it is in your mind racist to say, as you THOUGHT to ask,,,knowing! Personally I don't believe in anyone using the N word.. Using it as friends do who our black,,,I think it still sounds Degrading, and that its use by them will not make it any less degrading. Why do any of us have to make joke as to someone acting in a manner NOT their color,,,,hello, whats up with that? lol They should just be a lot of soul in them, or ANYTHING but to call them a name that Magnifies them and more importantly takes from who they are,,and places a comparison instead. Just my thoughts...

LOL, I must say this has become the stupidest thread I've seen on here and that's saying alot. We are not discussing "punks, mentally ill people, and *****es" we are discussing people with different skin colors. Punks, mentally ill people and *****es are an attitude, condition or behavior, NOT a skin color. You don't choose to be black, asian, white, native american, etc. you are born to that. You choose to identify as a punk or ***** or whatever. Being black or white or whatever is not a freaking behavior, it is your ethnicity, it is society who has chosen to decide what "being black" is. Even your addition of the mentally ill is inaccurate because no one chooses mental illness either. "Acting white" and "acting black" are ignorant, archaic terms. It's 2008 people, no one "acts black" or "acts white" anymore. You even have a president who is half black and half white, if he uses ebonics will you call him a wigger? If he speaks proper english, is he acting white? Think about that. I'm abandoning this thread, you can continue to fight amongst yourself and pass your racist, uninformed rhetoric back and forth, but I choose not to read it. Hmmm, I wonder if that was "black" enough? P.S. To the original poster, I don't attend church, therefore I have no pastor, and it's "good Christians" like you who are the reason why I don't go.

To be fair, it was YOU who brought up the color issue. The topic was not about the color of a persons' skin, but their decision to be something they're not. It has NOTHING to do with a person's skin color. It makes no difference if you're white, black, brown, yellow, red, green, or purple! If YOU make the decision to act like a punk, or dress like a whore, or let your mouth write checks your ass can't cash, or whatever, YOU had best be prepared to take any flak you may get for YOUR decision. Personal accountability! YOU are responsibile for any actions or portrayals you put out. Nobody else. Try owning up to your own decisions instead of placing the blame on others. If you want to make this a race issue, I also find it very ironic that the "people of color" are always the first people to scream racism, regardless of the topic. "Oh, your car has a flat tire." "That's racist! You're just saying that because it's black!" You are my new buddy....want a beer...or something stronger? At least you tell it like it is...

Actually...look up hopecenternashville.com.....that is where I went to church when I still lived in Nashville... It is "inter-racial, inter-denominational".....meaning ANYONE can come, and all who come will be accepted...we have black, white, mexican, japs, etc....still think I am racist? I am more of a rebel myself....know what I think? If you are getting mad, and can't have a conversation like an adult in this conversation, then you are free to excuse yourself from my thread....this was not intended for anyone to get all pissy...we all have our own opinions of what is right or wrong.... |

It's not so much a judgement as it is an observation of "it is what it is". If someone puts out a certain image, they're only labelling themselves. Nobody has to do it FOR them. It's called TRUTH, and too many people are afraid of it. i agree with this. its not about judging them. or condeming them. its jsut about seeking to understand a person's personality and why they do the things they do. society is full of mentally ill, criminals, idiots, biotches, etc etc etc Don't hate on the mentally ill, its not our fault 
Anyway, people will call you whatever they want, whether you like it or not. I have a mohawk, dress in jeans and a black shirt and leather jacket and often i'm called a punk, anarchist, devil worshiper, etc in public. If i cared what others thought of me, than i would shave my mohawk off and wear nice clothes, but since i don't i'm a proud punk =D Oh, and if i did shave my head, i would be called a skin head, racist, KKK member, etc. Theres no way to win O_O GIT 'ER DONE!!! |

Wigger...is the combination of two words. One being white...and the other...nigger...hence wigger. I hate that word...i hate anything to do with that word. And the term wigger, invloves that term, so to me, its still has racist vibes and can be very prejudice. how can the "N" word even be concidered a racist term, when most blacks I know use it loosely???? Even some black friends call me their "nigga"...but they all know I am 100% honkey...and we respect the difference....hence the reason we get along...broken racial boundries does not require me to stop being country |

If you decide how a certain group of people are supposed to act, in this case white people who "act black," you are labelling them, because you have decided how they should behave based on what they look like. It's not about TRUTH, it's about IGNORANCE, because only an ignorant person would ever assume that the color of someone's skin has anything to do with their behavior. If you believe it does then you are a racist. Wrong. Think again. If someone decides for themselves that they want to look like/act like a punk, then they will be viewed as such. They have nobody to blame but themselves if somebody makes that judgement about them, for this is what they themselves have chosen for society to perceive them as. Well....ask yourself this. What does the word wigger consit of? In that my friend....you will that it is offensice and can be looked at as racist. That is like someone thinking one is automatically a bad person just because they have been to prison....as if they will never change....in a sense....that is a form of "bias" as well... if you know one has been in prison, will you not be untrusting of them? The fact that they have been in trouble in the past makes you think they will do something to you, or your property...something along those lines.. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! Can you prove me wrong? Is it not judging someone? |
