Oh! So there is no guarantee that that particular camera even works on Vista.... Are you still looking to buy a camera that will work for you? yes i am,well my daughter is,, she brought a laptop, with her graduation money,, and decided she wanted a cam,. so hopefully she can find one that will work thanxs all |

Carizma, Am I correct in understanding that your webcam worked on a previous version of the same software, but not on a later version? Are you truly running the -latest- version? Does it give you an error message, or are you not able to find the configuration for it, or is there some other problem? (Also, I agree with the others: uninstall vista, install XP or another OS. It may not help you with this particular problem, but its a good idea regardless). oops forgot: there was no error message, just no where in messenger could u open/use web cam hi,, sorry i should have explaned better,,the web cam was new,, have used a web cam with messenger before,, but for some reason the new cam wouldnt work with the new comp ,it has windows vista.. so i gave up took cam back,,lol... |

check dell website ...do the research on what you need and want...then call them direct and have it built to your specs. I bought an xps for 1/3 rd of the price by getting rid of crap I didnt need, added memory and speed, then bought the other programs I wanted at office max thanxs will check out there site |

best laptops in the market are Dells...depending on what your needs are and how much you can spend you can find a decent one at their website... she is spending her graduation money,, will check out there site..thanxs |

It has been my experience that Acers suck. Watch the ads when school starts up. I got a great Compaq last year at Best Buy for $400.00. The only downfall was it had Vista, but more stuff is compatible with it now than was then. i never heard of acer....so any info is help ful...thanxs |
