How many widowers out there?

Widower since October 21, 2012.......First time in all my years that i've ever experienced a total emptiness throughout the entire holiday season....I do miss her so... Know the feeling as well chas730. For me being Widower since Sept 14, 2011 has taken me on a path I've never even thought of doing during my 28year marriage. I had to dig deep and lean harder on my faith to get me through those same moments you are going through. I do find comfort in surrounding myself with like minded people and learn how to continue on my journey from those folks who have experienced the emptiness and longing. You don't get over it, You learn how to cope and continue on day by day. Be strong, Praying for ya friend. |

I know it exist, I thought we would grow old together and if she were still here in this life it would be. Never thought I would be searching for it once again at this stage of my life. Sorry for your loss. You are one of the few rare people that found their true love but most of us will never. Don't get me wrong; I am okay with it as I like that I can do what I want when I want. I find that relationships are way to demanding; way too much work with little or no return. I have enough on my plate with work, military, and trying to maintain a home; I simply don't have time to deal with a relationship. Thanks navygirl for your kind words. I am one of those few who honored my vows for an awesome 28 year journey all the way to our final moments together. I learned a lot about myself as well as the meaning to unconditional love. Thanks for your service to our country. Sure sounds like your plate is full. Guess the only thing I can say. Enjoy each day like it's your last because there isn't no promise of tomorrow. I too tend to be very cautious when giving out my phone!
I am comfortable taking things slow with emails working towards phone calls. With all good things there has to be patience and it's taken me a life time to learn how to be just that. |
