All alone on Christmas eve lying bundled up in my blanket
Too full of pain and questions to sleep
I flicked a glance towards my brothers closed bedroom door
There he stood plain as day
Not knowing if I should scream or cry
I froze and watched him with wide eyes
Fear was gone in an instant
Comfort spread like wild fire
He was okay, the horrid scars of war were gone
Tall and proud he strode a little closer
I opened my mouth to speak but the words refused to come
And as Christmas lights splattered shadows
Of red, blue, purple, and orange across the wall
We shared one last goodbye
I wanted him to lie down next to me
Craved that warm strong embrace
Instead as tears tumbled down dampening my pillow
He smiled that smile that melted my heart
Promised he would always be watching
And disappeared into the darkness of the room

Oh yes, having your own business out where you used to live could pose as a problem since you moved.
