This is typical behavior of the Biblical God all the way through the book. God gave the ok for Satan to murder Job’s sons just to ‘test’ Job’s faith in God. Clearly the souls of his son’s were insignificant. There are many instances where God kills even babies just to make a point. Like when he killed all the first born of Egypt because he had hardened the Pharos’s heart to not set the Jews free. The writers of the bible forgot to take into account that all these supposedly insignificant souls that are being killed are supposed to also be people in their own right. I can fully understand your point of view. These stories suggest that when God focuses on the main character in a story then all-of-a-sudden all other people are reduced to insignificant props in a play. So you better watch out! You might be struck dead by a bolt of lightening just because God is making a point to someone else.
Seriously, it makes you wonder just how insignificant we are huh? This is why I believe that the stories are entirely the fabrication of men’s imaginations. What kind of a creator would behave the way the Bible claims? Thats what I thought, but didn't want to be ingorant about it. Any God that would kill my son for something I did is not to be worshiped |

BTW, I'm just posting a friendly question. Not trying to criticize anybody. it's not my life, i'm just trying to get some ideas to understand my brother from another mother. "The government says that to have value as a human you must make this much" Noone disagress, so it continues where does the government say anything like that? ever been to a divorce hearing, or child custody. It comes down to money, been to many. Taxes, welfare, all is judged on income, open your eyes once in a while. Scarry but you learn things how else would you make determinations regarding taxes or welfare? It kinda has to be money. Yes but we(people of the USA) have slipped into using social status to determine all aspects of life, its very sad. |
