It is difficult to find good friends,....some "friends" are only when all things are ok, but when you are in problems you know who is your real friend. I would not call those people "friends", but acquaintances. Definitely, you are right! |

Just an observation...
I was out at a club I've only been to 3 times lst night, and watching the people in there is funny. It got a little too busy and I was out of my comfort zone after a while. My friends and I were watching how people interact, and Some of the men in this city are just nuts! All the girls come in out of the 8 below weather in scantly clad clothing, and when they walk about the bar, the men are checking out boobs and bums. Even the poor waitreses couldnt even talk to the patraons without them looking at their chest instead of reading lips in a loud crowded bar. We were just having a hay day laughing at some of these people. Drunk girls who cant even stand up, and guys are checking them out like they are a piece of meat hanking on a hook, when clearly, they are with guys! Are you sure that nobody observed you?,.....maybe someone is telling other story! (it is a joke) |

Spear Time
Awhile back, I posted some snippets from actual profiles I found on another site; one of my favorites was posted by a Chicago school teacher who said she liked to work on cars in her "spear time." OK, so that was pretty funny, a teacher making that kind of mistake -- but if you know anything about the Chicago Public School System, it's not at all hard to believe. Found another one last night who wrote "I'm a music teacher. My job keeps me too serious and too focused that's why in my spear time I like reading and why not from time to time to try different things." Apparently, teaching music -- being that it's an "international language" and all -- doesn't require any fluency in English. There was more, and it was just as butchered, but I don't want to belabor the point. And, in closing, here's one more complete profile, informative as all get-out, makes you feel like you lived next door to this person your entire life: "I'm a pretty laid back, down - to - earth girl. I'm just trying to live life and enjoy every moment i can." I'm tempted to ask "Where have you been all my life?" but then she would have to write more words. Good point,....mmmmmmm,..my English is bad ,..but i try to improve. Maybe my Spanish and swedish are better. |

You are right, if you do not want to answer,...do not. But remember that two very good friends ,....some day were strangers,...but one of them gave a first step,....and,...surprise,...friendship!. But at the end is your choice!,. heh...i have wonderful friends...from this site and others. i'm very blessed. i also have a very active and full life, and i refuse to feel beholden to an email. i write if i feel like it...not because i have to out of a misplaced sense of guilt. it clearly states in my profile that i'm not looking for a relationship...so i don't feel guilty about brushing off the ones that try and convince me otherwise. Sorry,...it was only a comment, i also have wonderful friends,..and my life is full of good things. but if someone say hallo, i answer. i am not talking about relationship, i am talking about friendship and cortesy,...i understand your point of view. sorry, i did not say that your life was empty. Have a nice afternoon! |

why is it rude to not answer? why do we owe complete strangers our time? why do we feel absolutely compelled to send out words to someone we've never met nor talked to? i don't always answer...and i never will. i don't always answer my phone, either...nor return messages. if there's a question or concern about the site, then i'll answer. other than that...it's hit or miss. You are right, if you do not want to answer,...do not. But remember that two very good friends ,....some day were strangers,...but one of them gave a first step,....and,...surprise,...friendship!. wolverine

Wolverines are big secretive weasels with bad attitudes, but that doesn't stop some people from getting awfully excited about them. In California, wildlife enthusiasts are buzzing because a Oregon State University graduate student's remote-sensing camera appears to have photographed a wolverine, making it California's first substantiated wolverine sighting since the 1920s. Katie Moriarty was trying to get a shot of the American marten, but her research project probably is getting more attention now, thanks to the accidental grainy shot. Here's how the U.S. Forest Service describes the wolverine, and the photograph: The North American wolverine is the largest member of the weasel family. Adult males weigh 26 to 40 pounds, while females are 17 to 26 pounds. It resembles a small bear, with a bushy tail and broad head. Its diet includes carrion, small animals, birds, insects and berries. U.S. populations are found largely in the Northern Cascades in Washington, and Northern Rockies in Montana and Idaho. The nearest known resident population is about 900 miles north of the Tahoe National Forest in Northern Washington. Attempts have been made for decades to photograph wolverines in California, according to Bill Zielinski, a Forest Service scientist with the Pacific Southwest Research Station and an expert at detecting wolverines, marten and fisher. He said periodic sightings have occurred, but never scientifically confirmed using detection methods that produce verifiable evidence. Scientists will now conduct further detection analysis on the Tahoe National Forest using remote-controlled cameras and barbed wire snares that snag hair. They may also use dogs trained to find wolverine scat. Scientists have found dogs to be three and a half times more successful at detecting rare carnivores than remote-controlled cameras in forested areas like the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Zielinski said hair and scat samples would contain DNA that can be analyzed to determine where the animal originated. Wolverines have large home ranges that vary greatly depending upon gender, age and food availability. In order to avoid interference with ongoing studies, Forest Service officials are not releasing the exact location where the wolverine was photographed. The agency’s regional forester for California has listed the wolverine as a sensitive species, and the 2004 Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment directs the Forest Service to conduct an analysis to determine if activities within 5 miles of where a wolverine was detected will affect the species. “This is an exciting research discovery, both for its scientific value, and as a demonstration of our success in forest management.” said Tahoe National Forest Supervisor Tom Quinn. “For now, we on the Tahoe National Forest have more questions than answers. We have initiated discussions with researchers about where this sighting occurred and how this could affect management of the National Forest. We are also consulting with wolverine experts and forest managers where wolverine populations occur, and gathering current literature and studies. As we learn more, we will assess which projects and activities, if any, might be affected.” Wolverines???,...it is a new discovery,....nice!!!!. It is nice to know that there are unknown species in the north american forests. |
