I've got herpes

From STDWeb.com:
- 30% of all new cases of Genital Herpes results from HSV-1 the virus of "cold sores". - The difference between "genital" Herpes and "oral" Herpes is in location only, not viral type. - 50 to 80% of all Americans carry the antibodies to HSV-1. A staggering number of people, even those who have been infected for years, are unaware that these oral/facial outbreaks are a form of Herpes, and are therefore highly contagious. HSV-1 infection of the genital areas are passed via oral sex with someone who has a cold sore. Many people mistakenly refer to type 2 as "genital herpes," and type 1 as "oral herpes," when in fact, Herpes types 1 and 2 can and do infect either area. While many people have type 1 oral infections and type 1 or 2 genital infections as well, it is extremely rare for a person to have infections with type 1 and type 2 simultaneously in the same location. |

I ran into this situation with a very lovely woman on our first date a month ago. She was forthwight and announced to me that she had genital herpes type 1. She said that she caught it from a man who had a cold sore and had oral sex with her. I appreciated her honesty and for giving me the choice rather than hiding it from me. I chose not to see her any further because I just don't want any STD's, especially herpes, the one that "keeps on giving". I feel bad for turning her down because she was so honest about it. Sadly, I know that her honesty and the men who have turned her down have to be very painful for her to endure. It's a situation where one wishes otherwise, but that's all you can do is wish because herpes is not something I or anyone else, I'm sure, would care to catch. You know that those are two totally seperate viruses and can't be contracted that way right? You are incorrect. After she told me I checked it out. There are two types of herpes virus, type 1 and type 2. Type 1 is typically a cold sore in or around the mouth. However, if someone who has a cold sore and does oral sex, the virus will be transmitted to the the genitals. Herpes type 2 is more severe. I suggest looking the two up on med web sites like I did. |

Ever notice that most of the "crushes" are for the same small group of members. You mean the five or six whole people that even listed anyone??? Or the people who were clearly joking??? This was an awfully negative post for such a fun and flirty thread. Way to harsh our mellows... Not harsh at all, just an observation. There are quite a number of great potential mates on this site for everyone. I find myself wondering why there are so many still single after being on here for years in some cases. I completely understand the small number that post. I'm just saying that to find a relationship, people need to "expand their horizons", so to speak. A lot of people read the posts, but never post themselves. It's not at all unreasonable to say that if one posts a "crush" on an "unknown", that "unkown" may see it and respond! |

Ever notice that most of the "crushes" are for the same small group of members. Kind of reminds me of the people in a bar that focus on the few who make the most noise, ignoring the rest of the patrons. It's no wonder I see so many complaining about not meeting anyone when they refuse to look for "crushes" in the thousands of others on the site!

Yeah, I've got a crush on someone and I let her know. The nice thing is she feels the same way. Now we're moving forward to make things happen. Who is it? I'm not one for "drama". I'll divulge that when I exit this site for lack of need.

“The New Testament, the Church and Christianity, were all the creation of the Calpurnius Piso (pronounced Peso) family, who were Roman aristocrats. The New Testament and all the characters in it - Jesus, all the Josephs, all the Marys, all the disciples, apostles, Paul, John the Baptist - all are fictional. The Pisos created the story and the characters; they tied the story to a specific time and place in history; and they connected it with some peripheral actual people, such as the Herods, Gamaliel, the Roman procurators, etc. But Jesus and everyone involved with him were created (that is fictiotional!) characters.”
Ahhh, my mistake. I thought this might be a thread with some scholarly merit. I was sooooo wrong! I'm out of here! ![]() |

"So desperate did the religious manipulators become to cross reference ‘Jesus’ that they inserted a pathetically obvious addition into the works of the ‘Jewish’ historian, Josephus, to support the unsupportable." As an archaeologist, this is entirely false. Jesus was mentioned by Josephus and his writing of him was not "inserted" into his text. This is poor scholarship. Also why call Josephus a 'Jewish' historian. He was Jewish and fought in the 1st Jewish Rebellion. He was also an educated citizen of Rome. He survived the 1st rebellion by switching allegience to the Romans. The accuracy of the historical writings of Josephus were proven when archaeology confirmed his account of the Roman siege of Masada. That's a nice way to put it I guess. His people called him "traitor" Flavius Josephus was not his real name either. He was taken prisoner by the Romans and chained up in a dungeon and probably tortured. Probably the only reason he was allowed to live is that he cooperated with the enemy of his own people. He was used by the Roman aristocrats to write false accounts of history and to destroy Judaism with the writing of the New Testament which is a total fabrication. JB Not a "nice way" to put it, rather an accurate way. There is no proof that Josephus; was called a traitor by his own people, that he was tortured, that he lived only because he cooperated with the Romans, that he was used by Roman aristocrats to write false accounts of history. I suggest a personal reading of his writings; "The Jewish War" (ce. 75) and "Antiquities of the Jews" (ce. 94). He hardly wrote to destroy Judaism. His account of King Herod and his sons is extrememly well balanced. Josephus writes as well about Augustus, Marc Anthony and Cleopatra. |

LETTERS DEAR ABBY ADMITTED SHE WAS AT A LOSS TO ANSWER
Dear Abby, A couple of women moved in across the hall from me. One is a middle-aged gym teacher and the other is a social worker in her mid twenties. These two women go everywhere together and I've never seen a man go into or leave their apartment. Do you think they could be Lebanese? Dear Abby, What can I do about all the Sex, Nudity, Foul Language and Violence On my VCR? Dear Abby, I have a man I can't trust. He cheats so much, I'm not even sure the baby I'm carrying is his. Dear Abby, I am a twenty-three year old liberated woman who has been on the pill for two years. It's getting expensive and I think my boy friend should share half the cost, but I don't know him well enough to discuss money with him. Dear Abby, I've suspected that my husband has been fooling around, and when confronted with the evidence, he denied everything and said it would never happen again. Dear Abby, Our son writes that he is taking Judo. Why would a boy who was raised in a good Christian home turn against his own? Dear Abby, I joined the Navy to see the world. I've seen it. Now how do I get out? Dear Abby, My forty year old son has been paying a psychiatrist $50.00 an hour every week for two and a half years. He must be crazy. Dear Abby, I was married to Bill for three months and I didn't know he drank until one night he came home sober. Dear Abby, My mother is mean and short tempered. I think she is going through mental pause. Dear Abby, You told some woman whose husband had lost all interest in sex to send him to a doctor. Well, my husband lost all interest in sex and he is a doctor. Now what do I do now? |

Yeah, go after ALL the candidates kids and see what salacious activity and disabilities can be dredged up from the sewers! Good reason to vote for Nader! There has never been a good reason to vote for Nadar. I've met the man, and he is as unflexible as it comes, and only sees his personal view as the right one. No, he's just as sanctimonious as Pat Buchannon, except from the other side. Obviously you spent a lot of time with Nader when you met him and you've listened to him speak to draw that conclusion. I've heard him speak many times and he's the only candidate who talks the issues and doesn't rely on a "voice" with no substance or only on a war record. Yeah, you're not exactly hitting it out of the ballpark there. Spending time with a person when they are not "on stage" and listening to a man give an influential speech are not the same at all. So who's the one here that really has an idea of Nadar? And of course you assumed that I was supporting one of the two party candidates. Wrong again. I just don't think Nadar is any better an answer than McCain or Obama. None of them are good choice, and none will represent anything that I believe. I'm voting Libretarian this year. I've already decided to wash my hands of this election and vote my conscience. The Libretarian party is the only third party that actually has a chance. The Green party doesn't realize that Ralph polarizes way to many people, and that the marginal Democrats still haven't forgiven him for keeping Gore from being elected and Kerry too if you ask me. The only thing that he has really done since seat belt legislation is to give us eight years of George Bush. He's a fool. Sorry, I made any assumptions. I, too, will vote Libertarian if need be (Nader doesn't get on the ballot). Anyone but the two idiot Republicrats that are running! |

I guess you had a point-? Now I don't know if that was neg. or pos. and, I don't choose nor want to try and figure out what you are going for with that comment. Nor do I appreciate you quoting me, and adding a sentence in the middle of my post. Repaste with a response after the initial quote is suffice. Clarity should be a prime objective when quoting someone. Factual based comments/posts are actually more effective when addressing/responding to me. Taking a complete emotional stand only gives me an idea of why now---- You are deemed as not worthy of any further reviews from me. Cheers- Whew, I got another Republicrats forehead veins bulging out this morning! Yes! My point is the entire post made about Obama is wrought with generalities with no definitve actions or accomplishments. So propaganda, is what it is! Better fit for a Red Chinese newspaper! You contradict yourself demanding facts by presenting none yourself. Not to worry about Obama's future though. He'll make a good voice for use in Hollywood movie trailers after he loses to Nader! I feel sooooooooooo unworthy! ![]() |
