Maybe he is too shy to ask you, so maybe you should ask him. Just ask him if he likes you. Texting usually makes things like that easier. The worst thing he could say is "as a friend". I agree...if you like him tell him. Then ask him if he likes you the same way.

I mow my lawn in cut off BDU's and combat boots and no shirt. I can put 5 arrows in a one inch circle from 35 yards. I can not remember names to save my life. I cannot stand a dirty house I take pride in being called a dork (by certain people)
