I think the problem is more that so many of the active members are so far flung.

During my time on Mingle, there appears to be a lot of "just passing through" members. After a short time without much luck, they just move on to the next dating site, never staying long enough at any of them to truly find a match.

And then there are the "silent members" who are here, and have been for quite some time, but they rarely, if ever, post in the forums.

After that come the fake profiles, whether they are scammers, solicitors, or just active members secretly perving on a crush. I'm not sure that the last really happens, I suppose it's possible. Regardless, these profiles may contact a number of people and then disappear for no apparent reason.

So, the active members likely make up just a small percentage of the total membership here on Mingle.

From what I've seen, most of the active members live far apart from the others. One of the few exceptions seem to be Texas. Several active members are from there. Another exception is California, which is probably second to Texas in active members. Outside of those two states, the population density of Minglers appears to drop off dramatically, unless you turn to overseas members.

That's my observation at least. The active members seem to be fairly open-minded to interracial relationships. And because active members are a relatively small group, the chances of finding a black woman from the U.S. drop proportionally. What we need are more black women who stick with the site longer than a few weeks, or who post more regularly in the forums. The increase would likely appear much larger than it really is.
