Every weekend? How far away were you? I think that it depends on the situation and if long distance could or would change to local. It was about 100 miles |

I agree with Winx.. in a normal relationship you basically see the person on weekends only, due to work and busy schedules.. Were you the one doing the driving for the weekend visits? If so, I'd say that there were other reasons for her ending it. JMO No we would switch off weekends, I would drive one weekend and she would do the other. One thing she said was that if she needed me at that time she knew she couldn't call me and have me come over. Understandable.. but in any case, you build on a relationship in hopes of it turning into more, than later down the line you would be together as one. <shrug> Yeah, I understand where she is coming from, I'm not bitter or anything, just dissappointed. We are still friends. I figure if she can't handle it than I can' tget mad at her for it. |

Well the cash wasn't really an issue, we lived about 100 miles apart so we make the drive back and forth on one tank of gas. I paid for her gas a lot of the time too just to make it easier on her if she was driving. I think its easier for me to handle it because I'm prior military and had to deal with it with deployments and stuff. I just wanted to see everyone elses opinion.

Just curious how many of you would work to maintain a long distance relationship if you really enjoyed being with the person you were dating.
The reason I ask is cause I just got out of a relationship that was long distance. We were both happy but she said she couldn't handle the distance. We saw each other almost every weekend. We didn't argue and talked on the phone every day. So whats your stance on this. |

 A Marine was deployed to Afghanistan. While he was there, he received a letter from his girlfriend. In the letter she explained that she had slept with
two guys while he had been gone, and that she wanted to break up with him ... And, that she wanted the pictures that he had of her back. So, the Marine did what any squared-away Marine would do. He went around to his buddies and collected all of the unwanted photos of women that he could find. He then mailed about 25 pictures of women (some with clothes, some without) to his girlfriend with the following note ... "I don't remember which one you are.
