Toasts with friends...
|
|
At the party I attended last night, there were three GORGEOUS bartenders
(girls) from a topless bar who came by after their bar closed. They kept raising their glasses and making the same toast: "Party like a Rock Star, Fuck 'em like a Porn Star, and Ride 'em like ya STOLE 'EM"... That one, and the girls doing the toasting, will stay in my mind for some time...LOL!!! Now, I want to hear the best toasts YOU've heard or made... |

"She LIVES..." ~ but she is one tired puppy this morning...
Met a former boss (current buddy) for dinner, and he begged me to get him into the party. I did, but he left me his 'Vette keys and took a cab home around midnight. The cops were thick as ticks on all the surrounding roads (this party is an annual thing and well publicized). I secured the ragtop inside the chainlink fence and kept socializing. I really wanted to leave around 3 a.m., but my tags expired a week ago so I didn't dare. The crowd thinned out around then, and we all chilled on the outside porches and under canopies, talking old times. I left around 5 a.m., was asleep by 5:30, and woke up at 9:30 for some reason. I see a nap in my future... LOL! |

I know ya'll are gonna wonder about me, but I love the smell of puppy
breath and puppy toes. Yeah, I said PUPPY TOES. You can tell a puppy's overall wellness by the smell of it's toes. Healthy puppy toes smell like popcorn. I swear it's true. |

Grrr...Good morning, All!
I'm chewing both my coffee and my cigarrette, the dogs are fed, I'm checking e-mail for last minute changes to my committment (below), and trying to get into the shower. This is what the day holds for me... Ya'll have a good one! **Leaving the house at 7 a.m. (yes, on a Saturday) to drive to "South of the Border" near Dillon, SC. At 8 a.m., I'll rendezvous with another dog rescue person who will hand over 2 Great Dane dogs to me, and I'll be driving them 80 miles to Dunn, NC. They will be turned over to the next transport volunteer ~ on and on until they reach their destination Sanctuary in New Jersey. Then it's home to groom 7 dogs (this is an "every Saturday" thing...ugh!), Beginning at 3 p.m., long time friends who are members of a motorcycle club (to remain nameless to protect the guilty) are having a 24-hour "24th Anniversary Party". Looks like the weather is gonna suck, but I'll be there anyway. Free food, buck-a-beer, $2.50 Jager Bombs (my fav!), bands, bikes, leather-clad men and women (some naked, I'm sure)...good times, good friends, good fellowship! Sunday, I'll be sleeping... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These are the details of tomorrow's Rescue Run Transport (I've deleted info to assure privacy): Transport Coordinator: Pat Date of Transport: Saturday, 10/7/06 Beginning City & State: Hartsville, SC Ending City & State : Jackson, NJ Reason for Transport: Medical Boarding to Rescue Passengers: Name: Luke and Blue Velvet Breed: Great Danes Age: both 1.25 yrs old Gender: 1 Male; 1 Female Altered: Yes Size/Weight: These are small for Danes, but large dogs, nevertheless. They are @ 75 lbs and 80 lbs. Vaccinations: UTD (Up to date) Wormed: Entirely Flea Treatment : TBD General Health: They are recovering from terrible prior living conditions, but are doing well, now. Housebroken: No Crate trained :Don’t know Behavior with Other Dogs: Good Good with Children? Don’t know Any behavior problems: None have been observed. Crate: We would prefer to have the dogs travel uncrated, if you, the drivers, are comfortable doing so. While crating is always the safer option, crates for these dogs are quite large, and it is important that these two be able to travel together, in the same vehicle. They are likely to travel quietly and well, if permitted to stretch out on a back seat and in a cargo compartment. If you do have a crate or crates for dogs this size, and are able to fit them in your vehicle, crating would be fine, too! Sending Shelter: The dogs have been boarding at the treating vet, but were rescued through the cooperative efforts of: DELETED We are flexible - MEETING CITIES/LOCATIONS CAN BE CHANGED! If you can do a partial leg, that’s great, too! Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! WE LOVE HAVING BACKUP DRIVERS! It's BEAUTIFUL WOMAN MONTH & TAG YOU'RE IT!
Did you know that it's Beautiful Women Month? Well, it is and that means you and me !!! I'm supposed to share this with FIVE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, so I'm posting it here! Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her "beauty tips." It was read at her funeral years later "For attractive lips, speak words of kindness... For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone...People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others." If you share this with another woman, something good will happen. You will boost another woman's self esteem, and she will know that you care about her. |
