have cut her loose until the police got there just to make it a point
for her parents. People just dont care. they wont make the kids wear a

Didnt sound negative in my opinion and I hope no one else took it that

Do you ever wonder why INS raids some places and not others? Raiding a
small factory for a couple of people just shows "they are doing
something" why dont you see INS in the fields raiding a few thousand
workers picking tomatoes and oranges in Florida. Because the crop
wouldnt make it out and if Florida OJ doesnt make it out the US would
loose millions of tax revenue. If the INS and the US was serious about
cleaning house they would have done it long ago but the reality is the
lobbyst and local government cant afford to have the feds raid their
states and loose the tax base. Good old dollar. then again if the US
really wanted to clean house all they really need to do is give mexico
back the land they took way back yonder. As I see it California,New
Mexico,Arizona and a few others are spanish names. We didnt name them.
We named Virginia, PA and so on right? As of 2005 California had
according to the US census over 35 million residents. Well that about
makes up the illegals so I say give them California and the good growing
fields and let them keep it and sell us some produce. Tough one ah? Yeah
we have taken alot form everybody from the natives to the mexicans. Now
we must share like good little children of the same maker that we are.

I am all for it man. I agree with both sides man. I saw the ones that
only want to drink and drive and saw the ones who want to push drugs but
by far they are some of the hardest working people I have met. I lived
in Japan for 15 months and managed a store there and the Japanese are
the closest thing to matching how hard the mexicans work. Thats why I
helped them in court and as mention earlier by another person, alot of
times its their own people taking advantage of them and when you work 7
days a week and dont have any one to go to what do you do?
The police department in Boone NC called me one day to help out with the
language. When I got there I met a man in his 40's that was all but
beaten down and weathered. He had broken his leg carrying x-mas trees
and was told if he went to the doctor he would get fired. Went to the
hospital anyway because he had to for a cast. When he got back his BOSS
told him he had a week left and thats it. Was fired. In that week he was
told if he wanted a water break to drink from the same place the live
stock drank. This was verified by the rest of the crew in court later.
Well the boss had him down at work time card wise because he didnt want
to pay dissability. Turns out you cant be at the emergency room and
carrying x-mas trees at the same time. Well he was found guilty of all
kinds of falsification of papers and not paying taxes when he was also
witholding them. Didnt help his case the judge happen to be a person who
had taken several mexican students under his wing and out them thru
college without even adopting them. Just helping them. Needless to say
the boss got slammed. Now thats small town population 10K or so. Imagine
country wide what some of these people go thru just to make a better
living. We dont like our job we apply for another one and move states
and do whatever we need to to better ourselves. I dont believe I would
cross a river several times and risk getting shot to earn 2-3 bucks an
hour.

you know what the bad part is for some dirt bags actually taking
advantage of the some of the hard working imigrants,

I translated for them at court hearings and alot of people in the
grwoing industries actually take out taxes on these guys but never
submit it to the government. I cant tell you how many times I went to
court for that. They would get hurt and go for dissability to find out
their bosses werent contributing to it but were deducting it. I assure
you I know of all the dirtbags that are illegals and puching drugs also.
But I agree with you. If they are here using government services they
need to pay just like we do.

By the way cowboy,

I believe they should learn the language and most do if they want to
earn more. Just remember it took us from the time we were born to the
time we actually learned to read and write, several years. so I am sure
if they get several years they will learn it as well even even as we
all know, its alot more difficult to learn a language as an adult than
it is as a kid.

issue is certainly a big issue for the US.

I served in the Marines and worked for the Post Office. Just about my
entire working career has been with the Federal government and because I
know spanish I have been sent to places to serve as translator and also
volunteed to help the spanish community. I say this so that you know
that what I am about to say actually comes from something I have dealt
with and not just off the top of my head.
1979-1980 I am sent to Key west Fl to act as translator for the cuban
boat lift where Castro sent over 100K people mostly from his prisons
into the US courtesy of Jimmy Carters Courtesy.
That I did not agree with. Except for the good families that came over.

I dont agree with alot of policies and this thing about having to learn
a second language is a touchy one. I consider myself lucky that I do
know one but woudnt force it on any one else. However do you ever wonder
why anytime something happens around the world almost all nations know a
second language especially english? Its a big worl out there and to
think everyone should learn english but us not learn another one is kind
of difficult to accept.
Next, I see you are an electrician by trade, these guys pick our produce
for pennies an hour. Do you realize that if american unions and workers
did that a normal tomatoe would cost about 6 bucks. I dont know about
you but I neither want to be on my hands and knees all day or get paid
pennies to do a very difficult job.
next, I dont aagree with borders being open. just as soon see another
great wall of china than let people cross at will. why? because some
states make it illegal for hospitals to even ask for insurance cards
when its an illegal but if I go you better believe they ask me. Not faif
is it?
We need to weigh I guess the good with the bad and try to take a middle
road because if they kicked out the 20 million or so illegals right now
this nation would come to a hault with some of these industries just
like thruckers going on strike. I will tell you cowboy that for everyone
you think is mexican only half would actually be. the other half is
south american decent. some of these countries pay their people to try
and come over wether its for drugs or just to distrub the peace so the
US has to put a stop to it and for me the biggest reason isnt to keep
them out, its to keep the drugs out.
