I dated a guy who always opened the car door for me and can I tell you it drove me crazy!!! It is one thing (if he must) if it is the beginning of the date and he is just being polite in a nice way. It is another thing if we have stopped at a quick stop so I can run in and get smokes and I have to wait for him to open my door...like I can't do it myself. Or if it is pouring rain and I can get into the car faster by myself!! I tell you he took his 'old world charm' to maddening extremes!!! Perhaps I am just to independent to live.....? Seamac, you're talking about smothering, and no one likes to be smothered. In fact, it's a good way to end a relationship real fast. Everyone needs at least a little space to maintain his/her comfort zone no matter how good the intentions are. Just be honnest with the guy...I mean women always complain about how chivalry is supposedly dead...Either live with it or complain... How is the dude supposed to know unless you tell him? Most guys are dumb, you know. I include myself in this, we need a visual reminder most days,lol.

I would have to agree with Fear on that one. i was cheated on by my ex after a 4 year relationship(i know 4 years isn't long but since i just turned 24 last month its a while for me) a few months ago and i know that i wont be capable of maintaining a healthy relationship for a while. Just do you for now and something REAL will come along. It was a 7 year relationship for me, she cheated, we were engaged, she cheated, I was pissed. despite everything, life goes on... Sometimes I feel bitter, but the best thing to do is just look to the future, and leave the past in the past. |
