My first death came at 13, my cousin Jay, 6 years old, had a stiff neck, went to doctor.. put in hospital for polio..died when a candy striper didn't notice he was choking to death on his vomit in the iron lung. Devastating, as we were raised together. First love, 7 years old, Ronnie Gregory, he had this speech impediment, made me all warm and fuzzy :-) The separation of dear one really hurts,specially at our tender age. 
(Though our holy book 'Gita' teaches us to be stoic, but after all we are poor mortal. Incidentally my cousin name is also 'Jay', a very common name among Bengalies.) |

it gives some thrilling excitement. When I got my first appointment letter, I felt myself ten years older than what I was. What was your feeling of first love, first death in the family, first..........?

I'm not uncommon.... Sometimes I feel I am so "common" I blend in to a crowd... 
We are all common.Our interest, talent, our view of life etc make some of us uncommon/deviate us from majority. (It seems to me)

I wrote seven books and I've somehow avoided becoming my father. Or anybody else's father, for that matter. Writing book needs hard labour and creativity. But still harder is not to boast high on it.

I am a completely Independent woman. This meaning paying all my bills by myself, doing all my renos, and even being able to defend myself in a fight with a man. I think that is very uncommon and so do my male friends.
