hi i just recently joined plentyoffish and even poured in some money to upgrade and be a "serious" member but it's been going on almost 5 days now and no luck. have you had any luck on that site? any suggestions? Plentyoffish.com=Local pub. Mingle2.com=Pool hall with bar. Sorry, but PoF has a serious lack of any decent people there. can't not comment on this one..... I've found much more intelligence in the PoF forums ... just more nazi mods ... PoF is more Canadian. that's the big difference so ... for Canadians ... its way better ... more people closer to home ... so there is actually a good chance of meeting them face to face and not just cyber chat/crap. |

Not five whole days! You mean you have not blinked and found "the one"? Suggestions? How about patience? Just because you pay for a site does not guarantee results. Now that borders on the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. patience is a virtue ... not a playing card. and a whole week .... what the crap do you expect to find i a week? herpes or a god digger? go buy a hooker. I've been on PoF for about 5 years. and yes I've met people but no ... the one ..... you are stupid if you even look for love ..... it just happens .... you can't find it. just socialize and keep your hope bubbling to the surface and drop the impatience ... its for idiots. |

The Great Pitbull debate?

What's to debate...
laws ... hmmm... yea .... most are made for a select group and the rest of us toe the line or pay the fine. as for dogs .... any pure breed is stroking some kind of elitist attitude in the individual and in my eyes is stupidly egocentric and of no good to anyone else or to dogs in general. We just like to play god. its sick when you think seriously about it. Pit bulls were bred for dog fights .... now think about that. |

A woman said "I dont own a toaster because toasters kill more people every year than sharks do" Have you heard anything you would like to share? I would like to hear it. That's ridiculous. If that was true, "Jaws" would have been a toaster. Jaws ... was just an overblown sensationalism of a false premise. Great whites are of little threat ... most attacks blamed on whites are bull sharks and .... jelly fish kill way more people .... so... by your assumption .... Jaws should have been .... uuuugh .... squish ... a jelly fish. |

Of course, my texting habits are hardly worth considering compared with those of your average teen, who sends more text during breakfast than I do in a month. Anyway, I’m curious: Do you find that you’re spending less and less time actually talking on your cell phone, and more time texting, picture messaging or otherwise using data? And are your wireless calls getting shorter and shorter? Or are you a mobile use who bucks the trend? totally buck the trend. don't own a cellphone and unless someone else buys one for me ... probably won't have one for some time. |

Capatilism versus socialism

My vote goes to a mix of both for neither system works in its pure idealism.
we need to put people infront of commerce for the only reason for commerce is the people. just as the only reason for the government is the people and the people are the government. we must keep our heads screwed on and stop falling for the rhetorical b.s. of the right vs. the left. devide and conquer. that is the problem right now. too divided people need to come together and actually work out a happy medium and stop the b.s. China and Global trade relations are part of all of that. Fair Trade has never really been fair ... and that is the big problem. Graft ...Corruption ... Tribalism ... the right and left are both guilty of it and so is every other power in the world. It needs to be put in the open to shame these a-holes into being a bit more fair every day ... and eventually we may find a fair world. And it won't be Capitalism or Socialism ... it will be an exotic blend. |

I just got the bean dip scared out of me. I was watching the idiot box and there was a loud noise at my window. Sounded like a ladder hitting my metal sill outside. I got up and looked but there was nothing and no one out there. And yes, every light in and outside of the house is lit. Now I know in one part of my brain that all the windows are locked ( I just checked ) and I am safe. But being alone, the other part of my brain is in full flight mode. I hate that feeling. What do you do when you are alone and frightned? I rationalize .... and sometimes put on heavy rock music. as for your noise ... I live in the country with lots of windows ... its common for bird to hit my window and wow ... does it make a big bang. another is a temperature change that causes expansion or contraction of the structure and that can make a big bang. or just something being blown down or over. or knowcked over by a racoon etc. there is always a rational reason ... just not always easy to seen. |

What constitutes what humanity would consider a perfect world? Dellusions of grandure. If you want to know why I say that ... its because the question was not what makes up a perfect world it was what makes up what makes humans think a perfect world is. now that may not have been what the OP meant to ask and thought he was showing his intelligence with big words ... but in reality ... ![]() |
