Sorry to hear what happened to you, unfortunatley it is so easy to hide behind a screen create any persona you want to be and i have had a similar experience to yourself, please do not let it put you off dating sites because there ARE genuine people out there! The one thing I can not understand is WHY? Why play games with a persons head KNOWING you are going to hurt them deeply? My experience happened a long time ago and hindsight is a wonderful thing it was the first time I had experienced the devious mind of a pathological liar , the knock on effect can be mentally horrendus,fortunately I did not tar all men with the same brush and have met some wonderful guys , since that horrific episode in my life I always insist on a picture, and contact details, genuine people have no problem with that... good luck!
