Psychological addiction is present in marijuana, but that is dependent more on the psyche of the individual, not the substance itself. An addictive personality can latch on to anything, marijuana is just a vessel.

Scientifically, marijuana does not create physical dependence or long-term health effects. There have been zero cases of fatal-effects in marijuana, and it can be used for pharmaucuetical purposes. A drug that has never killed is illegal, yet alcohol kills everyday. Add a little knowledge to your diet.
