a new temptation in town
she comes daunting,
the tomcats, her scent is found
most of them where out
except the teenagers
struting their stuff
they weren't out
chasing the mice down
but the big orange tabby
sniffed her out, by now he had
her in his sights
licking his fur,
making sure it is in place
putting on his strut
with a grin on his face

he took off after her
her scent he did trace,
others more weak did not even dare
give him a go, nor did they state
the younger of the toms
started to challenge him
some would say, this was even a sin
for all they knew he was old
and barely moved, so they approached
to give him some of them

well, the fur started to fly
as missy went by
startled at the sound
she quickly swung around
as she saw the big orange tom
giving all that he had
she was somewhat relieved
in fact, she was glad
cause little did he know
she had him in her sights,
then he remember, and now
concentrated on thee

many moons ago, when he'd
lost his home one summer night
his family had left him,
when they thought he had died
cause someone captured him
kept him locked up in a barn
and every night he sighed

he had thought of her too
his new beau,
the one he couldn't no longer see
so many moons ago,
he'd forgotten what she looked like
and soon she was just a memory
until this very day
he could finally see,
it was her, she was watching him
his memory of thee
so, he turn to face his opponents
but before he could react
they pounce upon him
and fought a fierce attack

coughing a gurgling,
he laid upon the ground,
as his lovely little feline
came stumbling, crying a mournful sound
she looked, at the vultures
that now stood there watching,
yelled out a growl
that made their fur fall off in the howl
she scratched and clawed
with the devil in her eyes
not one of those buzzards where left undead,

she then went to her darling
eyes big, and swollen,
grabbed him by the teeth
to drag him, cause he was so swollen
off they went to her where she live
the owner of her, couldn't believe
that the tabby laid there almost dead

he work on him though the night,
then she laid by his side,
looking a waiting with big glorious eyes
as the sun came up over the big willow tree
her big orange tabby was smiling at thee
she licked him, pawed him so carefully
he said to her then,
I am glad you returned to me.
