I wouldn't relocate outside of the general vicinity. My parents moved here a couple years back to be closer to me, and they are nearing the age where they will need my help...can't leave em hanging! Besides, I love where I live (the area, not my current apartment).

I vote scam too. No matter who it is from, if they want my SSN, any money or account numbers, I independantly verify the validity of the email by looking up said person or business elsewhere and calling them.
