Hearing on the news about all the people going in to Kmart and paying off people with kids layaways filled my heart with joy..No child should wake up Christmas with no presents under the tree...I try to help year round by donating to good causes... That is wonderful, this is a time of year that alot of people struggle and can use a little helping hand. It makes my heart melt to hear the generosity of people. |

Also, a friend of mine asked me back in September, "How come you don't follow the news?" I told her, "Because it's enough to destroy a person's faith in mankind. One person commits a crime, and, instantly, a billion people know about it. 99% of the people aren't doing this crap, and no one gets to hear about the good things they do." Glad this thread is up so we can hear about these good things. That is so true. All we hear is the violence and horror in the world. Its nice to tell the world about something positive for a change. |

I saw proof this morning that there are still good people out there. Christopher (my son) and I were waiting for his bus and a woman stopped, got out of her car and handed me $20 and told me it was for Christopher for Christmas. She said she sees us out in the morning when she goes up the street to the hospital for an appt. She said she never had to raise a special needs child and she just wanted to give us a Christmas gift. We stood there talking and crying. What an amazing woman she was! God bless her! MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and Chris......May it be one that makes every new day feel so Beautiful and BRIGHT..... She certainly was amazing as are all the people in the posts here. What amazing people we've come across in our lives. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. My munchkin doesn't want for anything, I am thankful even being out of work that I can still keep a roof over his head and heat in our home. Merry Christmas to everyone! |

I wish. Looks like an unrelated ad for garfield sayings? I could make out your op which was grand. Maybe the lady was paying back some recently illuminated karma. Nice. Maybe so, all I know is she sure made my holiday! I was able to get a few more things for my munchkin for Christmas! |

I cant read this because the screen is all messed up. I dont see an oversize picture which is usually the culprit...anyone know what happened? Someone posted some messed up link about half way up the page and now its all screwed up. Can we get it deleted somehow? |

In Florida the newspaper has a fundraising for those in dire need of surgeries etc, and accept donation to make great things happen for others at Christmas time. This year a man of modest means lives in a railer stated he doesn't need the money to live and donated a 100,000 dollars, becoming the single highest donation in history of the paper doing this. The man asked that his name, identity and city location be kept anonymous. This gives me renewed belief in others goodness. That is incredible and I am sure made him just as happy as the recepients of the gifts. |

Both awesome stories! Thanks. I was starting to give up on people being nice. I also have a best friend that has been more helpful to me in the last 6 months than my other friends have been in 15 years. He goes out of his way to help me and asks nothing in return. I can't even buy the man lunch but I found he likes baked goods; so I have been baking him all kinds of stuff and he loves it. Eventhough all my chores are done; I am still baking him some stuff just because.... He truly is a dear man and I am blessed to have him as a friend. Well, I lucked in with my friend but he is only one in a city of a million people. He truly is an angel. Friends like that are one in a million and they are the one we hold onto tightly with both hands! Totally agreed. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for him s he is a gem. That is so sweet and I know he feels the same about you. I was able to pay it forward today. I chatted with a woman who said her family was really struggling. I offered to get some of my son's books and toys together for her that he doesn't use anymore. He is getting more things for Christmas anyway. I also gave her a few small gift items I purchased and now don't need. She left here with 2 big bags full of stuff she can give her grandkids for Christmas. The look on her face when she saw the bags was priceless. |

cool stories I have knocked the hood here before but there are good folk I was trying to carry a bunch of large boxes for moving that I bought at U-Haul and was lookin' klutzy this dude came out of nowhere, took the boxes and said where's ur car? loaded them for me, and then proceeded to tell me a couple places local where I could get more for free (as I'm new here, that was a great help) where ever he is...whoever he is...thanks What a great story, there are so many nice people out there. I am glad we were able to see the good in people for a change. |
