I am a Mormon (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and have
been a Mormon all my life but have attended other churches as well in the past. There is NOTHING at all that we are discouraged to discuss with non-Mormons. Y'all can say what you want about Mormons but I can tell you this...we are NOT a cult, we are NOT pagans, and we are NOT evil nor do we distort the Bible and its teachings. Sorry if I have offended but I wanted to put in my 2-cents |

Use a roux...that is the best trick I know and it makes the best you
ever tasted! SIMPLE ROUX RECIPE Ingredients: 3/4 cup oil (Canola or Vegetable) 1 cup all purpose white flour Directions: Heat a heavy skillet or cast iron pot and add oil. Once oil is heated, slowly add the flour, stirring constantly until all is blended. Continue to cook over medium to low heat, stirring constantly until flour and oil blend to form a brown roux the color of a dark copper penny. The longer you cook it, the darker the roux will become. Remember don't rush the cooking of the roux; allow the mixture to develop at its own pace. Transfer to cooking pot and add warm broth to hot roux for thickness desired. |

I have two special needs boys: My 11-yr-old has Asperger's syndrome and
my 15-yr-old has PDD/NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder/Not Otherwise Specified). Both of these are autism spectrum disorders, or in layman's terms - high functioning autism. They also have other associated problems, for instance my 11-yr-old also has severe ADHD and my 15-yr-old also is borderline bipolar. I love my children with all my heart and would not trade either one of them for a "normal child" any day! They are so special and so precious just the way they are...they are my life and my joy! Everything that I have been through with them has been so worth it...all the hardships, the misunderstandings, the fighting with society concerning them, the emotional struggles...have been so worth every single minute. These are my babies and I love them! |

^^^^ ok, ignore my last paragraph on the Hawaiian Sweet bread, that was
another recipe I have, lol! |
|
|
|
Hawaiian Sweet Bread
1 cup warm water 5 tbsp. white sugar 3 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. powdered milk 2 tbsp. instant potato flakes 3 tsp. yeast 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 tsp. lemon extract 2 eggs 4 tbsp. butter or margarine Measure ingredients into the bread machine in the order suggested by the machine's manufacturer. Set machine for dough. Place dough in a 9x5-in. loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 350ºF oven for about 30 minutes. The crust should be golden and bread should sound hollow when thumped. You can also do this by hand following your usual breadmaking directions or do as I do and let the breadmaker do all the kneading for you and then before baking it put it in a greased loaf pan and let rise until double, then bake at 375-degrees for 30-40 minutes |

Italian Bread (best bread ever for grilled cheese sandwiches)
1-pkg (1/4-oz) active dry yeast 1-cup warm water 3-tbs sugar 2-tbs butter or stick margerine, melted (butter is the best) 1-1/2 tbs italian seasoning 1-tsp garlic powder 1-tsp onion powder (or 1/4-cup to 1/2-cup chopped onion) 2-1/2 to 3-cups flour In a large mixing owl, dissolve yeast in water. STIR in the sugar, butter, italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion, and 1-cup of the flour. Beat until smooth. STIR in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a lightly foured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 5-6 minutes. Place in a bowl coated with nonstick cooking spray, turning once to coat top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-hour. Punch dough down; turn onto a lightly floured surface. Shape into a loaf. Place in a loaf pancreas coated with nonstick cooking spray. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30-minutes. Bake at 375-degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan to a wire rack to cool. YIELD: 1-loaf |
