When you are first dating I think its inappropriate and looks kind of preplanned but when you are in a relationship there is nothing wrong with buying things or spoiling your girl. Yeah, I agree. It's not unusual to get things for the other person if the relationship is serious. |

My mom taught me as a teen to never accept expensive gives from a man unless we were in a committed relationship ,because in her words, "Those gifts are NEVER free." For better or worse, I have held on to that, and what I have noticed since, is that alot of guys after a break up will talk about all the gifts they gave to their ex, making me think like they made a mental bill of every present and favor they ever rendered, and nothing about what the girl gave back.. No thanks. That doesnt sound like love to me . I cant be bought. Ha. Your mom's a smart lady. Some guys must look at it as investments. |

Ummm You dont' have to accept the gifts or when he asks would you like to go to.. instead mention someplace else there is lots of great entertainment in the Salem area or Portland for that matter that doesn't cost an arm and leg. Yes. Some men feel the need to spend money on a girl for obligation sex. I had a girl "friend" tell me that a guy spent about two hundred dollars on her on the first date and she felt obligated to have sex with him. And she did. I just shook my head and said, "you slut!" What is it with guys who like buying stuff for girls?
As in "spoiling" when they're just starting to date. It's weird how generous they try to be. Are they trying to buy me? Is it a sexual thing? (Because I've known guys who get off on being forced to buy things for women.) It baffles me. Isn't dating about things you can't buy in life? Mayhaps I should clue them in. |

I'm in the same boat.
Twenty-five and have yet to have sex. (Unless you count oral.) I don't think it's a big deal. Guys I've talked to never think it's a big deal. The only thing I sometimes consider is lack of experience at a certain age. As in I'd rather not be a complete amateur by the age of forty or fifty. Also, I'd like to take advantage of my vag while it's young. xD But I'll get to it when I get to it. I've more important things to stress over. |
