that there are people on here who seem to get e-mails from thousands of possible suitors on a daily bases but yet they still can't find a date for saturday night? Oh I get emails...not thousands...not many I would care to respond to either. A needle in a haystack to me. |

watch this, listen to the NRA vice president in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acokf3c-D3k Good video. I personally don't want to have a shotgun against a criminal who has an uzi, AK, or any variety of many semi weapons out there. But then again, I am the protector of my family. |

Racial profiling has more to do with vehicle stops than possible home burglaries. Profiling occurs when a cop pulls someone over. When a neighbor calls 911, how is the cop profiling? He is just responding to a call. 1Adam12, 1Adam12...possible 10-14 in progress. (not sure if 10-14 is right or should I say Wright).

I'm starting to think Gates and President Obama sat next to each other at the good Rev. Wright's sermons. "The Chickens Have Come Home to Roost"... sorry, I couldn't resist. Many people forget the past, but I don't.

criminals buy guns every day...I bet they get an AK-47 for less than $500 bucks. Watch the border war going on in Texas. If I lived there I would have a semi-automatic "assault" weapon. As semi-automatic weapons have been around so long I consider them the norm. Who carries a .38 revolver anymore. Dirty Harry would have a semi-automatic weapon.
That being said, this guy is profiting off of a touchy issue. I hope someone doesn't walk into his dealership with one of those AK-47's after he repossess their truck. |

I personally think this story is barely newsworthy and is being blown out of proportion. The idiot threatening to kill people and burn down buildings on the phone seems like a bigger story to me Agreed. The news worthy part of it to me were the remarks by the President on a close friend of his. That is why it made the news. Peace and good day. Let's see if the actions here make other people cry wolf as well. Just remember people, the Professor was more white than black by his own admission. That fact seems to always get overlooked. |

Seeing an ID does not prove anything. It must be checked out. The Professor did not cooperate at any stage of the process, in fact, verbally assaulting the officers...there are lines you don't cross. I'm sure the police told him to calm down plenty of times before finally citing him. Now the Professor wants an apology. Paaleeze..he should thank the police for doing a good job..jmo Or was the fact that he is a good friend of the President, motivate his actions?

Mirror, the Professor did not give his ID at first. It's not like he walked to the officer and handed it to him and explained the situation...he was defensive and verbally aggressive.jmo

Hey Billy, I have an external Hard drive with over 250 gigabytes of music. I can't say how I got it, but it has enough music on it to play 200 plus days straight. Lots of Grunge. All the soundgarden and Alice, and all of it. I love music.
Maybe the Cobain vs Alice in Chains deaths were one was a suicide, and one was a drug overdose if I remember correctly. Either way, I miss them both. Personally, I have been a Neil Young fan for ever. I got so sick of the 70's crappy music, that when Grunge started out I loved it immediately. Have a good day and rock on. |

"Uncalled For"? No, usually not enough evidence to prosecute or not worth the negative impact. It's kinda like the "Don't Taze Me Bro" thing. Now there were black officers tazing a white guy. I supported their actions there and think this case is similar...jmo

Agreed. I am from Wisconsin but was in the Air Force for most of the 80's and traveled a lot. I knew some good guys from the Seattle area, they turned me on to grunge. I can't remember half of the one hit bands that came out at that time. I wish I could.
But if the purpose of Grunge was to stir emotion...I gotta say Soundgarden was good. Too heavy at times. Pearl Jam got me through a divorce, so I'll always remember them. Nirvana made me want to work out.and party. I dunno. Thanks for the topic, and the memories it brought back. |

alright i had a feeling this was gonna happen........ how are any of you going to put neil young and soundgarden/pearl jam/nirvana in the same category ---- that is my first question??? grunge, whatever you may call it...who cares when IT started what I am talking about WHAT the TOPIC said Topic: The beginning of Seattle Grunge - BOO NIRVANA right? I am talking about that "Seattle Grunge" Rock. Neil Young? Are ya kidding me???? Seattle Grunge Rock like......Soundgarden - Pearl Jam - Nirvana - Alice in Chains - and several other smaller bands which I won't even get into...... IF you want to get into the "roots" of "GRUNGE" MUSIC IT was created by Mark Arm from the band Mudhoney, which would be one of those, "smaller bands" Neil Young!?!? Are you serious?!? He plays the HARMONICA! Going a little off topic keeps others interested in the thread. So you are limiting it to Seattle Grunge only. Well people may look at them as a poser but Nirvana was great and so was Pearl Jam. I listened to both of the A LOT. |

I was a police officer for 8 years. First of all the facts in this case that are known...the Professor did not give his ID willingly at first. The police have to run the ID, and in the meantime were verbally assaulted by the Professor. I think the Good Professor knew he had a friend in a high place and used it. He should have been happy the police came to check on his house and cooperated. But the police do not take things at face value, his ID had to be verified. Plenty of fake ones out there. The Professor should have told the neighbors, had a spare key, or whatever.
Then, the President, on a national press conference jumps in with saying, "he did not know all the facts and was not there, but it probably was profiling and the police acted stupidly"...I was shocked. I did not vote for Obama, but have given him my support since the election. He is the President. But as a law student from Harvard, where the Professor is also from, Obama jumped to a quick conclusion. That scared me, he is the President. He should have taken a pass on that question. I lost a lot of respect for Obama on this one. Also, the Professor is bi-racial and proudly admitted according to DNA results, he is actually 56% white. Yet he jumps on the racial profiling bandwagon. |

BHO and Janet Napitalino are breaking the Immigration Laws by not enforcing them. The Laws are on the books not only to proyect our jobs. They are there to protect our economy and health also. If you care to investigate, TB, brought in by the Illegal, is on the rise. Polio is a real threat also. There are Immigrants who are waiting in line after going through the screening process who are being robbed of their oportunity by the Illegal. Illegals do not pay more in taxes and they do collect welfare, food stamps, medicaid and tanf. Social Services has been ordered not question the forged or stolen documents the Illegals provide. I call that double dipping. Working under the table and collecting social Benis. Lobbyists are the ones paying for DHS to leave them alone and not raid them. It is in the best interest of the Corps. to have Illegals. No rights. The legal Migrant worker has rights. Workers with rights cost the Corps. more. No Amnesty. Deport the Illegal. Prosecute the Employer who hires them. Vote out the Politician who ignore our existing Immigration Laws. Prosecute the neglgent Politicians in charge of enforcing the Immigration Laws. I can't argue with that. Good points, although most people will ignore logic. A salute to you. |
