Let's Sing the Blues...

I had the blues for a time, now I just do everything in my power to stay happy and not let the world bring me down. Don't let anything keep you from being happy.

Thank you Mirror. I have never really thought about this until now. I am not absolutely sure how I feel about this question, but I believe I am leaning more twards love being a feeling than a choice. I just think that if it were a choice then wouldn't it be so simple to just choose not to love someone that has hurt you or left you?

Electronic Cigarettes
|

Until yesterday i was unaware of their existence. My housemate had bought one and i had a go and was really impressed. It feels like you are taking a toke on a real cigarette. It even sounds the same. The end lights up when you take a pull. You even get a scratch on the back of the throat, and when you exhale there is 'smoke'. Best of all there is nicotine in it so you still get your fix, just without all the horrible tar and toxins thats in real cigarettes. Gonna look for a good link to a site that sells them, I am gonna buy my mum one straight away. Anybody else tried them out? No though I have heard of them. How much more expensive than real ciggarettes are they? |

I understand what you guys are saying but perhaps these people are making themselfs known more through the forums and private e-mails than through thier profiles. (just a thought) It's a valid point, and I agree with the basic premise -- you will generally find out a LOT more about a person in the forums than you ever will in what is (usually) a static, unchanging, vapid and useless profile. The problem is that not everyone posts in the forums. In fact, I would guess that something fewer than 10% of the members here EVER post in the forums -- that's not based on anything other than observations and hunches, but -- it does lead to a lot of situations where the profile is the ONLY way to know anything about someone. And if they don't put any information in there.... Good point. I haven't been here very long and I have noticed that it's mostly the same people in the forums on a day to day basis. Perhaps these people will realize one day that they need to be more like an open book. |

Think about it this way. When you meet someone in your everyday life do they have an essay following them around for you to read before you decide to say hello? This isn't quite the same as meeting someone while you're out somewhere. Why even be here if you're not going to put any effort into putting up a picture and at least something in your profile? My profile is pretty full, but there are those people who prefer not to give out details to just anyone. Do they not deserve a chance to meet someone just because they don't want the whole world to know that they like certain things and dislike others? I understand what you guys are saying but perhaps these people are making themselfs known more through the forums and private e-mails than through thier profiles. (just a thought) |

No, but at least you know what they look like! That is true, I do think they should at least have a photo. A recent one at that, not some 10 year old photo from when they were in high school. |

Why don't you create something that cannot burn. Are ideas and inspirations able to burn?

Guys: If she's sad, comfort her. If she's happy, be happy with her. If she's angry with you, appologize, tell her you love her (and mean it), and give her some space.
Girls: Let us comfort you, we want to make you happy. If we say we're sorry, we mean it, otherwise we wouldn't say it. |
