I went into labor at home and it lasted for four days. I had been in the hospital in an attempt to stop the premature birth at 27 weeks just the week prior. I kept calling the OB/GYN telling him "I think i am in labour". When i dropped to my knees that fourth morning and called his office i cannot type the words i said to that nurse but i promised i was on my way to the office. I drove 100 MILES in labor that morning. Was left to sit in the WAITING ROOM for 45 LONG MINUTES. When i got on the exam table the OB/GYN went WHITE and then panicked calling the OR to get the room ready. I had been fully dialated the entire time. I never screamed but i was ONE HOT MAMA being ignored for FOUR VERY LONG AND PAINFUL DAYS along with 45 minutes in that waiting room. My boy was breech and has CP as a result of that INCOMPETENCE and also has other disabilities as a result of that premature birth and spent 40 days in the NICU. In MY birth experience with my baby i felt that screaming and getting upset would reflect poorly on my child who was seriously premature and the shock would be bad on him thru my emotions. I had NO epidural, NO drugs, just rushed to the OR for an emergency c-section. He was born 20 minutes after the exam was done on that table. In lala land and hollywood they make it look so typical with the mother screaming, sweating, carrying on but in the REAL WORLD it isnt always as glamorous as a movie. If so i have won an academy award!!!!!
