I have not watched little house on the prairie too much ...
but i did watch the " Love comes softly " series last week on the Lifetime Channel at my Mom's Place in the Northwest
and i don't think any one has a real true idea 
of the way it was back then unless we lived it ... 
& the story all depends on who is telling the story 
i know it was rough back then 
but i would still love to live
without noisy dirty cities
& without concrete everywhere
I do agree with you time back then would be a lot easier in some facets...less political craziness, men where men and the sheep were afraid , and women well were women and didnt mind being at the home front...
